Find your people. Keep the year.

Local circles

Find one, or start one

Circles are where the fellowship actually happens: five to twenty people keeping the moon and the sabbats together, in a city or a valley or a shared online room.

We do not publish a map, for our members' privacy. Write to us through the form, tell us roughly where you are, and we will put you in touch with the nearest circle or with others who have asked from the same place.

To start a circle you need

  • One year of membership and at least two sabbats kept with an existing circle.
  • Two trained wardens among your founding members.
  • A written agreement to the code of conduct, signed by everyone.
  • A named safety contact and a plan for the morning after every rite.
  • A scribe, and a book.

The council will visit, or join online, for your first sabbat. After that the circle is yours.

Write to us

Say hello, ask hard questions, or raise a concern

A steward reads every message. Expect a reply within a few days; safety concerns within 48 hours.

Please do not tell us about anything unlawful. We do not need to know, and we would rather you did not write it down anywhere.

We keep your email only to reply.

Questions people ask

Before you write

Do I have to take anything?

No. Never. Most of our rites in any year are sober, and sober members are full members with every right and role. Nobody will ask you why.

Is this legal?

Everything on this website is legal: meeting, reading, keeping the sabbats, talking about history and safety. Most sacraments are controlled substances in most countries, and the fellowship does not supply, source or shield anyone. Each member is responsible for the law where they live. See the Safety page.

Are you Wiccan? Druid? Heathen?

Yes, and others. Circles choose their own traditions and gods. The fellowship shares a calendar, a code of conduct, a safety standard and a conviction; it does not share a theology.

Do you work with ayahuasca or peyote?

No. Ayahuasca belongs to the forest churches and Amazonian lineages, who hold their own rites with their own rules. Peyote belongs to the peyote road and is being harvested to extinction. See the reciprocity pledge.

I am in recovery. Am I welcome?

Very. Many members in recovery keep a sober practice with us and are among our best wardens. Tell your warden, and talk to your sponsor or counsellor first.

I have a mental-health history. Can I still come?

To every sober gathering, yes, with open arms. For sacrament rites, some histories are a firm no and others need a clinician's conversation first. The Safety page lists them honestly.

What does membership cost?

A sliding scale set by each circle, and no one is turned away for money. A tenth of every membership goes to the reciprocity fund.

Can I bring a friend, a partner, a child?

Friends and partners, yes, once they have read the code of conduct. Children, no: all gatherings are for adults twenty-one and over, without exception.

Privacy

What this website knows about you

Nothing, unless you tell it. This site sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts or fonts, and runs no analytics. Your theme and hemisphere choices are stored in your own browser and never sent anywhere. If you use the contact or newsletter forms, your email and message go to the form service or email address configured by the fellowship, and are used only to reply and to send the newsletter. Ask any steward to delete what we hold about you, and we will.

We do not ask you to disclose unlawful activity and we ask you not to. We keep no record of who partakes of anything. The scribe's book of each circle records decisions and attendance for safety, is kept by that circle, and is not shared with the council or anyone else.
